ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra,West Garo Hills organized one day training programme on Integrated Water Management paddy cultivation on 1st Oct, 2024 at KVK training hall sponsored by North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management,Tezpur, Dept of Water Resources, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Govt of India. The programme started with welcome address by Dr. Tarun Kumar Das in which he welcome the participants and explained the farmers about the multiple water use to enhance livelihood security of rice cultivators. Dr. Prarthana Hazarika, Asstn. Prof. explained in details about the water management in kharif paddy and Dr. Rajnish Singh,RA,,NERIWALM explained about the water saving practice in paddy cultivation . Dr. Joyoshree Mahanta,SMS(PP) told the farmers about integrated pest and disease management in rice in relation to water and Dr. Monica Singh, Senior Scientist cum Head,KVK,Tura urge the farmers to use climate resilient technologies for sustainable paddy cultivation such as aerobic rice varieties and adopt scientific cultivation of paddy . 37 paddy growers from different villages like Nengja Bolchugre, Dilni Amakagre Allabagre and Samandalgre were participated in the programme.
