"Live Streaming of PM KISAN Samman Nidhi" organized by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region along with KVK, Ri-Bhoi

        ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region along with KVK, Ri-Bhoi today organized the Live Streaming of PM KISAN Samman Nidhi - Fund release of the 17th Installment of the scheme. The PM-KISAN, is a flagship scheme of the Government of India which was launched in February 2019 with an aim to provide financial assistance of Rs. 6000/- per year to eligible land holding farmers where the amount is directly to their account.
        The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri. Satish Chandra Dubey, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines. The other dignitaries present were the Shri Arpit Upadhyaya, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi and the representatives from the State Agricultural Departments. The programme also witnesses a huge gathering of farmers besides the scientists and the KVK staffs at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region.
        In his speech, Dr. A. K. Singha, Director In charge ATARI, Umiam focus attention on the various activities of the Krishi Vigyan Kendras as well as the activities to be undertaken in the near future adding that the KVKs are working hand in hand with the farmers community for their social and financial sustainability.
        Dr. V. K. Mishra Director ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region highlighting about the history of this institute said that this Institute has come a long way and has been continuously working hand in hand with the farming community and is celebrating its golden jubilee this year.
        The chief guest also interacted with the farmers where he elaborately discussed about the felicitation of the smooth flow of funds form the PM KISAN scheme and asked the government departments to remove the hurdles faced by the farmers. The Hon’ble Minister also distributed Agricultural inputs like Sprayers, Pumps and automated weeding machines Etc.
        The Chief Guest, Shri. Satish Chandra Dubey, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines in his address extensively spoke about the PM-KISAN scheme narrating the monetary figures which have already been transferred to the accounts of the farmers and also the one that will be released today. He further emphasized on the other schemes of the government which have largely benefitted the farming community. He also stressed that the farmers have a greater role to play when it comes to ideas like vocal for local, where they should make their local products excess able to the other parts of the country. He also thanked the farmers for coming to attend the meeting in such a large numbers.
