ICAR - Krishi Vigyan Kendra Namsai successfully organized one-day Regional Seminar on Large Cardamom, Ginger and Chilli. The KVK collaborated with Spice Board India Divisional Office, Namsai to organize the programme on 19th September, 2024 at Momong, with the participation of 100 farmers along with KVK Scientist, Spice Board officials. Dr. Utpal Barua, Senior Scientist and Head, emphasized on farmer’s keen interest to learn about new crops like Large Cardamom in Namsai region. He urged farmers to draw maximum benefit out of schemes provided by Spices Board. Shri. Pritam Chakraborty, Senior Field Officer, Spice Board, Divisional Office, Namsai delivered an extensive lecture on various schemes of spices board to promote cultivation of these crops. Ms. Shravani Sahani, SMS (Agri. Extension), discussed on scope of cultivation of large cardamom, ginger and chilli in Namsai area. Session on pest and disease management of these crops were conducted by Dr. Madhumita Sonowal Bora, SMS Plant Protection
