KVK Namsai concluded 5 days training cum distribution programme on the topic of “ Backyard poultry farming with improved variety bird” at Namliang village of Namsai district. The programme was sponsored by the PD-ATMA , Namsai district. Dr. Binod Kr. Dutta Borah, SMS, Animal Science acted as course coordinator of the programme and taught about various aspects of poultry and duck rearing system at backyard. In the valedictory programme, Smti. T. Thingnok, DTO-FTC Kherem cum PD-ATMA appreciated the activities undertaken by KVK, Namsai and emphasized to promote IFS model to enhance production and productivity. Dr. U. Barua, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Namsai was also attended in the programme and spoke about the importance of livestock based farming in rural economy. A total of 450 poultry chicks and 200 ducklings were distributed to 30 beneficiaries along with poultry feed. Ms. S. Sahani, SMS, Agri. Extension was also associated in the programme and collected baseline data of individual household.
