A two Days Entrepreneurship Development Programme on “Approaches for Promoting Organic Production of Economically Important Crops”
was conducted at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, Imphal during 15th and 16th May 2024. The training programme was organized by Agriculture Business
Incubation (ABI), ICAR Manipur Centre in association with Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS), Mantripukhri, Imphal which is a Service Provider of Manipur Organic Mission Agency MOMA
under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region (MOVCDNER) scheme.
The inaugural programme on 15st May 2024 was graced by Shri Kanmi Dominic, Director DSSS, Mantripukhri as the Chief Guest; Dr. I. Meghachandra Singh,
Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer Seed, ICAR Manipur Centre as the President and Dr. Kh. Rishikanta Singh, Senior Scientist, Course Director as the presidium member.
The training programme was organized with the objective to impart scientific knowledge on approaches for organic production of economically important
crops viz. Ginger, Turmeric, Black Rice, Millet, Kiwi, Passion fruit, Pea, King Chilli and Advocado. Challenges and way forward for promotion of Black Rice of Manipur and Production system of organic
farming was also taught during the training programme. The training programme was participated by Board of Directors and Local Resource Persons of Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) which are promoted by DSSS,
Mantripukhri under MOVCDNER-Phase IV. Altogether 45 participants from eight districts of the state viz. Imphal East, Tamenglong, Noney, Kamjong, Senapati, Ukhrul, Tengnoupal and Chandel participated in the two days training programme.
The valedictory programme was grace by Prof. L. Nabachandra Singh, College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal as the Chief Guest; Shri Kanmi Dominic, Director DSSS, Mantripukhri as the Guest of Honour;
