ABI Centre has commenced a 10 days EDP on “Transforming Agriculture to Agribusiness through EDPs among the Tribal Communities of NER” under NE Agri UDAAN 2.0"

        Agribusiness Incubation Centre has commenced a 10 days Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on “Transforming Agriculture to Agribusiness through EDPs among the Tribal Communities of NER” under NE Agri UDAAN 2.0 on 3rd September 2024. NE Agri UDAAN 2.0 is collaboratively being organized by ABI Centre and Tribal sub Plan (TSP), ICAR RC NEH, Umiam with an objective to promote potential entrepreneurs/educated youths among the tribal communities of North Eastern States towards agripreneurship. Total of 15 Participants across the Northeastern states will be trained on various sectors of agribusiness during the EDP period (3rd September to 12th September 2024). At the onset of Inaugural Session, welcoming the gathering, Dr. Aniruddha Roy, PI, ABI has briefed about the programme highlighting the importance and process of incubation programmes under ABI Centre. Dr. B. K. Singh, Head, Division of Crop Sciences, stressed on the importance of innovation in the success of agribusiness. Congratulating the Organizers, Dr. S. Ghatak, Head, Division of Animal and Fishery Sciences, has emphasized on the potential and opportunities of agribusiness in the region. Dr. S. Hazarika, Head, Division of System Research and Engineering & Nodal Officer, TSP, has highlighted the objectives and vision of Tribal Sub Plan Scheme which aimed at bridging the development gap between tribal and non-tribal areas through targeted interventions in education, health, infrastructure, and livelihood. The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Anjoo Yumnam, Co-PI, ABI Centre.
